About Me
Greetings! My name is Alikhan Umirbayev (Älihan Ömırbai) and I from Almaty, Kazakhstan. I am a first year PhD student at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, supervised by Professor. Ross Murch. I finished a BEng degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering with first-class honours from City University of Hong Kong, where I received 4-year Top Scholarship, and MSc in Telecommunications at the HKUST.
My research interests include antenna design, radio-frequency (RF) circuits, and devices for 5G/6G wireless communication. I am currently working on a Time-Modulated Antenna Array using ESPAR system.

September, 2024: Received HKUST RedBird PhD Award Program.
July, 2024: Graduated from the HKUST - MSc in Telecommunications. Received MSc Excellent Student Scholarship for outstanding academic performance.
May, 2023: Finished my 1-year internship at HiSilicon, Huawei Hong Kong Research Center as Digital Design & Verification Engineer Intern.
May, 2023: Graduated from CityU - BEng in Electronic and Communication Engineering, first-class honours.
